Since its inception in 2008, the World Oceans Day has celebrated the vital importance of the world’s oceans. On Sunday June 8 th, this year’s theme of Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us emphasized the oceans' essential role for life on earth. Additionally, it provides an opportunity to update on Plastic Odyssey’s 3-year expedition aimed at finding and sharing innovative solutions to reducing plastic pollution on land and sea.
