Total Global Sulfur Cap Forums - Nice
The IMO 2020 Global Sulfur Cap deadline is fast approaching. Shipowners and operators are creating, refining and implementing their compliance strategies.
The benefit of having a holistic overview of the fuels and lubricants options available is essential to secure a safe transition in 2020, and to perform beyond. To help in this process, Total is organizing forums for the shipping industry.
The Total Global Sulfur Cap Forums will bring clarity, expertise and practical advice to shipowners and operators. It will be a unique opportunity for all industry partners to listen and learn from each other through open discussion and debate.
Total’s Global Sulfur Cap Forums will provide expert guidance on technical issues as well as an overview of the long-term ability of Total to supply compliant fuels and lubricants around the world.
Our ambition is to become the responsible energy major providing energy that is affordable, reliable and clean. We are committed to supporting nation states to meet their COP21 commitments as well as supporting the shipping community through this important phase of the energy transition. As both a supplier of products and services to shipowners and a major charterer, we understand the complexities of 2020 transition.
We cover all routes to 2020 compliance through the supply of low and high sulfur fuels, zero sulfur LNG, as well as compatible lubricants in all key hubs. As a leading supplier of LNG, we are making major investments to extend our infrastructure to support the development of LNG as a marine fuel.
The forum is free to attend and open to all. Advance registration is required.
We look forward to meeting you soon.

"Total has been the first energy major to propose seaborne trials of Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil (VLSFO)", said Nicolas Rouquette, Strategy & Global Cap Director at Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions.
"The ban on transporting non-compliant fuel after 1 March 2020 does not give an allowable time to switch over. Only compliant fuel is authorized beyond 1 Jan 2020 unless a scrubber is installed", he added.
"We are 2020 Ready. It is important for us to meet the maritime industry and to understand their needs", stated Robert Joore, General Manager of Total Lubmarine.
A packed room of shipowners, managers, charterers and other industry professionals were present as Total Lubmarine and Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions undertake the Global Sulfur Cap Forum in Nice on June 11.
