"Total has been the first energy major to propose seaborne trials of Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil (VLSFO)", said Nicolas Rouquette, Strategy & Global Cap Director at Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions.
"The ban on transporting non-compliant fuel after 1 March 2020 does not give an allowable time to switch over. Only compliant fuel is authorized beyond 1 Jan 2020 unless a scrubber is installed", he added.
"We are 2020 Ready. It is important for us to meet the maritime industry and to understand their needs", stated Robert Joore, General Manager of Total Lubmarine.
